Awesome! We found this place on our way back home from a day in LA. The main reason why these donuts are so awesome is that they're freshly baked... taro based which is one of our favorites. Draft latte is nice but would probably not go for the straight coffee for the bitterness. Service super quick and cordial, no complaints here and rhe menu was explained nicely. The place itself is cozy, modern and inviting. For sure inviting for a do it place. Hope they'll stay in business for a LONG time.

THE BEST DONUT PLACE PERIODDDDDD Holey Grail is my favorite donut place of all time. Made from Taro and with such unique flavors~ I can eat so so many of these donuts and never get tired of them. My favorite is always anything with passion fruit- a perfect level of sweetness! They change their flavors every so often and I love every single one of them. It's about $4.50 a donut, and although it made seem small in size, it's like just the right amount! Such friendly staff and always good vibes. Parking is super easy around here in Ocean park, usually metered or in the back lots.

I'm usually not a donut person but WOW this was soooo good. I love that they are made to order so the donut came out nice and warm. I got the original sin with Hawaii vanilla bean and maple sea salt. The texture was nice and light and complemented so well with the matcha colada fizz. My new fav donut spot!

If you're into donuts, this place is probably your spot! I heard their donuts are vegan, so that was a surprise because I couldn't taste the difference. They have new flavors all the time. Lines can be long at time but everything is made fresh so that's good.

Holey Grail Donuts have unique flavors that separate them from other donut shops. The shop decor was urban chic vibe, and the staff were friendly. The made to order vegan donuts were visually pleasing with fun glazes, but it did take a bit of time to prepare. For first timers, it was difficult to choose from various flavors, and I wished they could do a dual flavor donut. The taro donuts were smaller than anticipated and tasted a bit dense. The lilikoi (passion fruit) was pretty fragrant, but I didn't taste much of taro flavor in the donut, probably overpowered by the passion fruit glaze. Overall, the donut wasn't too sweet, and I finished in seconds. It wasn't the best donuts I've had, but 3.5 stars (a bit pricey) bumped to 4 stars for creative flavors.

These. Donuts! OMG! Out of this world! I have been wanting to try Holey Grail since my last trip to Kauai. We weren't able to make it but was super excited when their Santa Monica location opened up. Donuts are made fresh. Did you hear me?! Fresh, hot, amazingness. What's different? They are made out of taro which is a Hawaiian superfood. Donuts are cooked in sustainable coconut oil. Additionally, they use local produce and real ingredients. I tried the original sin, Hail Mary, and the strawberry. My friend and I split flavors to try more. I had a seasonal nog latte as well. So good! I love donuts. It's one of my basic food groups. I love basic donuts. Plain, cinnamon sugar, old school cake donuts. Holey Grail nailed it! Back home, Michigan has cider mill donut season. Coming to Holey Grail is like donut season all year long but wayyyy better.

Have you ever eaten something that left you saying "oh my god" when you take a bite? That's what happened here. They serve it to you warm and freshly dipped and dressed and it is FANTASTIC. These should be eaten warm and enjoyed upon the box being handed to you. So if you think you're going to transport them home to be shared (or not shared), you should know the experience will not be optimal. Like it's ... fine, but nothing beats a warm fresh donut. What I'm saying is respect that and pls do yourself a favor and eat them when you get them. Just enjoy life and shove them in your gullet. +12,000 Stars.

Whenever I see this coffee shop Jay-Z plays on loop in my mind, his song Holy Grail ofc. Now this doughnut shop is holEY grail, har har, because they are donuts and have holes. Cute~! I realize that didn't need explanation or sharing but thanks for sticking with me on it... Holey Grail Donuts hail from Hawaii and are extra special made to order taro donuts. They're all about being local both in food & community, sustainability, basically all the good stuff you would want if you are eco-concious and/or kindness plays into your purchasing decisions. I do feel good knowing I'm supporting a good~to~the~bones place. Now that Holey Grail Donuts has graced us with their presence in Santa Monica, LA, I can tell ya first hand, the donuts are great! I had not had taro donuts before and was new to the more sponge-like insides with crispy outsides. I enjoyed everything we had and presentation was on 10! We got a beautiful box of 4, with my favorite being the Miso Honey. They all were great though! Even the draft coffee was delicious and follows all the same sustainability standards - love it! The shop itself was really cute, as well. Nice aesthetic and friendly staff. Indoor and outdoor seating. Metered street parking. Loved everything I had here, can't wait to go back and try more!
